She is [how-old-am-i bday=”1990-2-11″]  years old and was born on February 11, 1990  in Jinju, South Gyeongsan Province, South Korea. She is Korean by Nationality.  Her Zodiac sign is Aquarius. She attended  Chungshin Girls’ High School and later graduated from ChungAng University where she did her B.A in theater.

She was featured in Etude cosmetics Commercial with jang Keun Suk .

Her amazing work in the industry earned the honor to become Seoul Police Goodwill Ambassador in 2015. And Ambassador for the Korean Air Force in 2016.

In 2003, she won SM Entertainment Teen Model Contest. She was chosen to play the lead role of Lee Ok-rim. She played the role of ambitious and confident middle school girl catapulted her to instant stardom. The Series was a hit and also its second season was aired in 2006.

Her first film was Japanese movie Genghis Khan: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea. She played role of Khulan. She can fluently speak japanese and has been part of many japanese films.

In 2009, she became part o romantic Comedy Heading to the Ground

She is also a fluent singer and has sang film Papa.

She rose to international fame from the popular college drama  Reply 1994. She received Best Actress nominations in the Baeksang Art Awards and APAN Star Awards. 

In 2014, she joined police drama You’re All Surrounded along with Lee Seung-gi and Cha Seung-won.

In 2015, she was casted in film The Magician in which she played the role of Princess Cheongmyeong
